Activity Level Guide
We've created an activity level guide for all of our itineraries, so you can easily decide which holiday will suit you best. Before you book your TD active holiday, we want you to make the right choice and ensure that the holiday suits your fitness and abilities.
Level 1 - Easy
- Relaxed itinerary with a slow pace.
- Includes excursions with minimal physical exertion.
- Some steps/stairs and mostly level walking.
- Plenty of leisure and free time.
- Suitable for those with limited mobility.
Level 2 - Leisurely
- Cultural sightseeing with a mix of structured activities and free time.
- May include early starts and longer coach travel.
- Some walking over uneven terrain.
- Suitable for those with reasonable health and mobility.
Level 3 - Moderate
- A more active itinerary with early departures and limited rest breaks.
- Longer coach journeys and multiple excursions.
- Walking up to 4km, possibly on uneven ground.
- Requires reasonable fitness and comfort with standing for extended periods.
Level 4 – Busy
- Active days with multiple excursions and early departures.
- Travel may include flights, safari vehicles, or rickshaws.
- Walking up to 5 km at a time over potentially hilly terrain.
- Requires good health and mobility with comfort standing for long periods.
Level 5 – Active
- Packed itinerary with long days and early starts.
- Travel may involve flights, rickshaws, bicycles, or safari vehicles.
- Some stays in rural or authentic accommodations (e.g., homestays, camping).
- Walking between 5–12 km over uneven terrain, including hills.
- Requires good fitness and health.
Level 6 – Challenging
- Full of exciting excursions and physically demanding days.
- Travel may involve early starts, multiple flights and non-traditional transport.
- Itineraries can include homestays, camping, or authentic rural accommodations.
- Walking up to 15 km over difficult terrain and high altitude.
- Requires prior experience walking long distances and regular physical activity (6+ hours per week).
Level 7 – Tough
- Designed for adventure seekers with a high level of endurance.
- Long active days with early starts and multiple travel modes.
- Remote accommodations, which can include camping and homestays.
- Walking up to 20+ km over rough terrain, including hills and altitude.
- Requires excellent fitness, prior trekking experience, and regular intense physical activity (10+ hours per week).
- Tours may include extreme altitude and weather conditions.
